Le Président haïtien Michel Joseph Martelly a décoré le Vendredi 31 Mai 2013, au Palais National, l'artiste Rodrigue Millien, le musicien Raoul Guillaume, le Père Antoine Occide Jean (Père Sicot) ainsi que la conteuse Mimi Barthélémy (de son vrai nom Michèle Armand, décédée le 27 Avril 2013). Par ce geste louable, le Chef de l'Etat a voulu rendre officiellement un vibrant hommage à ces personnalités haïtiennes qu'il qualifie d'« artistes puissants et hautement créateurs » et saluer leurs œuvres respectives dans les domaines de la musique, du développement communautaire, de la littérature, entre autres.

North Miami Mayoral Race: Burns to Face Tondreau in Runoff

To no real surprise, former mayor Kevin Burns [2005-2009] came out in first place with 2,254 votes ( 33.22%), followed by Haitian-American activist Lucie M. Tondreau with 1,870 votes ( 27.56%).
